even worth it?

even worth it?
I just wanted to know if it would be possible to do a 331 stroker with out putting in new injectors and a calibrated mass air flow sensor in right away. Can it be done/will it work? Or is this just the stupidest thing even questioned.
Also I am planning on stroking my engine to a 331 (as you may have guessed by now) and in addition I want to put in gt-40 or similar explorer intakes. Now my question is about cylinder heads. As of now I have ported stock heads with a 5 angle valve job; the port job actually made about a 31% improvement on the intake and a 29% improvement on the exhaust when flow benched (computer tested). I also ported the stock intakes but there’s no doubt the cobra intakes will out-perform them, they only can be improved so far.
I want to know though would gt-40p explorer heads make a significant amount of improvement over my stock ported ones? And I’m not sure yet but I may port the gt-40s and give them a 5 angle valve job if I get them, I’m not sure because its so damn time consuming. Would there be an improvement if I just rebuilt them and put them on or no?
Thanks a lot, I know its a long post and sorry about that but I’m still in high school and about to graduate and as you can see I’m trying to get the most bang for my buck here while still going all out haha, plus it should be pretty reliable.

RE: even worth it?
First: forget the 331 stroker, get a stock 351W short block for $750, you're done and you have
a stronger block and crank and more displacement, plenty strong, most everything swaps over
or will interchange.
The big thing on the Cobra intake was the GT-40 lower manifold, the upper isnt that different other
than having bigger TB opening. the lower is where the better fuel and ditribution really came into play.
And yes, if you stroked it you'd want 24 or 30lbs injectors.
Ported stock heads flow just as good as GT-40P or X heads, so no big improvent there
just get AFR or TW and no need to port.
Best bang for the buck is a stock 351W short block, add a girdle support to it, put on some Trickflow heads
and get a GT-40 5.8L intake manifold from a Lightning. later you could put on s/c and easily see 500rwhp.
For $750 short block you a get a stroked engine, that will be stronger and more reliable than a 331 or 347.
351 mounts in same place, bolts up to trans, just need 1.5" hood and 351 headers

RE: even worth it?
^^^^^i think thats a little bit more money than he is wanting to spend. since ur on a budget i would honestly buy some better flowing heads and spray. best bang for the buck honestly. but u will more than likely have to upgrade to bigger injectors and prolly switch to mas
