So when you race, how do you shift your automatic?

With my auto and stock shifter, I can only manually shift from 1st to 2nd, but it automatically shift's from 2nd to 3rd so it will shift at a lower rpm than what I want it to.

Any suggestions?

Faster than 16.0 slower than 14.5

i ran 14.47 in my '90 GT aod 100% bone stock

it had 3.27 gears stock and depending what you have will make the difference between 14's and 15's

My '90 lx 'vert aod went 15.10 w/ 3.73's

door tag has "ax code" m=2.73 z= 3.08 e= 3.27

go have fun w/ it....i doubt you'll see 15's , should run ez 14.50's if you drive it hard enough, and maybe take a short belt gates 4060695 will bypass the smog and PS

yeah, but only if you don't need your trans anymore.

if you need it to stay together.....better not.

intermediate clutches don't like to stay engaged when they are not supposed to. forcing them to causes buku broken parts.

Yea since the tranny has only 5K on a rebuild with a shift kit, I don't think that will work for me,

But there has to be a way to modify this other than a manusl valve body, and B&M Shifter.

Anyone have any suggestions! (besides swap it for a 5 speed...)

Thanks,
Darrin

I know of several AOD's that can whip sticks without much of a problem, don't convert just build up your auto trans.
