Default Installing '82 scoop.

I finally bought a '82 scoop for my '86 (love the look). I was pondering exactly how to install it when it arrives.

My thoughts were to make a template using the scoop (make an outline including the studs) out of cardboard or something. Then doing the measurements, etc using the template before I start drilling.

Any thoughts on a different way to go about this?

As always....thanks!

The 82 scoops lined up perfectly on the 79-82 hoods, you didnt even nee a template to line it up right. I think the 83/84 scoops work the same way on the 85/86 models. But no there is no better way than to make a template and measure. But I wouldnt do it to that hood, go to a salvage yard Im sure you can find an 85 or 86 witha halfway decent hood for pretty cheap. Be a shame to cut into that hood.

I was thinking about getting a 2nd hood. I might. I do however want to do it right (on whatever hood). I want to seal it so there is no water leakage either under the scoop or down through the stud holes. I've seen a few on these forums and other places and I think they look great.

Thanks!
