Default A/C question

So...when I replaced my heater core, I had to bleed the a/c system. So, I have no A/C now. I just realized that I either need to search long and hard for someone to be able to recharge the system with R12...or get the R134 conversion. Is the R134 conversion worth it? Or should I just tear out all the A/C lines and components?

I work in a ch*****et garage, we still use R12, and most times the have retroed a system it took out the compressor, I wouldnt think it would be that hard to find R12, we got a bunch of it.

Where exactly do you do this R12 refrigerant charging? I just might be up for travelling to you and getting this done because there is no one (that I can find) that can recharge R12.

I am the parts dept. manager at a chevrolet dealership. It would cost you 55.00 labor, 5.00 for a/c system dye, and the refrigerant is 24.95 a lb, most cars are 2-2.5lbs The dealership I work at is in Rockville,IN 47872
