Default Oil delivery?

Well...I stopped into a machine shop/mechanic and had the guy listen to the tick from my top end. He told me that they had a 5 liter in there not too long ago with a similar sound. Told me that it turned out that the lifters were being starved of oil due to a clogged oil pump.

I got home that night and changed the 10/30 out for some 20/50 and finally got some decent oil pressure. Still ticks like a sum'b!tch but I have oil pressure. So can I cancel out the clogged oil pump and assume it's a collapsed lifter?

Anyone have or hear of a simlilar problem in the fox motor?

20/50 is thicker than 10/30, thus it will take longer to flow, thus your oil pump has to work harder, thus your oil pressure will be higher, thus since it's thicker it will take up more of the excess bearing clearance. try running some 5/30 in it, see if that helps.

Changing the viscosity of the oil isnt going to fix a collapsed lifter. The thicker oil didnt make it louder...or quieter. Didnt lose top end power either.

Well if your running Roller Rockers and Hydraulic Lifters you may need to adjust the rockers, they're known to tick tick tick when they rattle out of adjustment.
