Don't forget that every dyno is different and can be manipulated.

going to take mine to the dyno in the coming weeks and see what hp#'s I'm running. Will be sure to post. These cars feel like they have more than what Ford advertised.

15% loss with the slushbox sometimes more sometimes less, some are more efficient than others. It's even less of a loss with a nice converter in there.

hp loss thru drive depends on whether its automatic and manual, what kinda gear lube you
have in your rear end, how well your rear-end gears are installed, all kinds of things.

the general rule of thumb to get real close is 18-20% loss from crank, seems to hold up pretty well

k for some reason i have to say this.... i was almost stock (94 GT) 2 years ago and i pulled up agianst a 2003 RSX Type S and there rated at about 210 HP and a 2001 Prelude V-Tec'ed whatever you want to call it ricer mobiles which are 210 hp as well, the rsx bone stock and the prelude light modded with his exaust headers and CAI. Well ok race i take off ahead of the rsx in first gear and the prelude bombs it ahead of me by a car lenght the rsx stayed behind and keep staying behind when i caught up and passed the prelude in 3rd gear about 4000 rpm (dont ask me how fast im going cause i dont remember that just figure it out lol) anyways i dont think a 94-95 Gt has 190 HP to the wheels to catch up to a modded ricer mobile pretty damn quickly. althought those Japamade cars have amost no torque but they can move, stang can be all torque but im sure 190 hp doesnt really cut it for me. Thats my kinda little story and what i think about the HP rating on the 5.0.

A RICE INDEED WITH A WING TO SPEED!!! lol get it?[sm=funnypostabove.gif][sm=lol.gif]

well foxes are making TONS of torque. 87-95/96 i forget are basicaly the same 302 5.0 (4.94L) engines making 225hp/300ft-lbs torque.

my friend has a turbo honda civic making like 190hp/190 torque and hes "quicker" than me, meaning he can pull ahead faster but once im in the powerband i just fly by. torque wins races, hp is just a number.

the auto's dont have less HP than a manual. auto's are just more weight. the 95's have the AODE (electronic over-drive) which is even worse than the standard AOD. shift points are electronicaly controlled so you can't really push the car like you can standard.

of course an automatic with a shift kit will run laps around a stock 5 speed. automatics are heavily under rated. 90% of all drag cars are automatic for a reason.

oh yah when ford used their new testing equipment, they dyno'd the 93's at 205rwhp and 275rwtq. thats with all accessories, smog, and safety equipment. of course, its been proven that ford publicaly under estimated the mustang in 93 so they could sell more cobras which were also under rated at 235hp (more like 275 at the crank).
