something is draining my battery and the only thing I have touched is the alt (3g conversion) and the starter solenoid.

Okay here is what I did:

I cut the connector with the 2 black / orange wires and the single white / black.

I put eye connectors on the black / orange connectors and placed them on the alt + post.

I took the the small white / black wire and saudered it to the single connector and plugged everything up.

Thats it and its not working. I took the alt to get checked its good. Where did I go wrong here?

Fock U $70 electrical shop diagnosis!

One of the wires going to the alt was fried! I love Ohm meters! Saved the day. Mine has a continuity tester takes makes this pretty little beep when there is continuity. Bingo! One of the wires had a bulge where the wire had fried>

Now I have 14.48 precious volts, aah ahh ahh!!!!!

Thanks Snap,

That thing was driving me crazy. The new alt has a 8 inch space between the ears and factory is 7 so I kept swirching it back and forth and everytime I switched them I had to remove the bracket with then tensioner. Its a PITA! After taking both to Autozone at 2am to get checked I figured out the old alt was bad so then I knew it was the wiring somewhere. At first I couldnt find the short with my Ohm meter but after a couple hours bingo.

You know the stock wires can not take the amerage that the 3G puts out right?? Add a 4 guage from the alt to the solinoid. And disconnect the stock black power wires, but leave them on the solinoid end. You WILL have a fire if you don't do this.
