well i come back from a week of job searchin in colorado.....i have a younger bro that didnt have a car....well i come back and theres a clean *** 95 Z28 sittin in the garage....its HIS! its an auto with 87,XXX miles...pretty fast...now this is what im postin...hes rubbin it in that he can smoke my ***...now i need your help....i have a 95 stang gt vert auto...yes i kno auto sucks and heavy as hell lol...but i have K&N filter...o/r H pipe..dumped flows..asp smog delete and asp underdrive pullies...i got about 1,300 for graduation...now i have the money for my car what do you guys think....i dont want to run nitrous...i wanna beat him all motor....this is the ultimate brother vs brother race....chevy vs. ford....he just found a full exhaust for his car... long tubes all the way back to i dont kno what kind of muffler...and hes gettin K&N filter also...what you think!

i gotta be honest, he's got a pretty good headstart on you.
to level the playing field you have a couple of options:
a- gears (at least 3.73) and some more bolt-ons (intake, TB, Mass Air Meter, headers) or,
b- heads...thats it, just heads $1000 but worth it

Well, as you probally already know you have a bad combination to start with... sn-95 auto vert. Go with 4.10's and a set of control arms. Than spend what you have left on minor things. Than you can go with a nice h/c/i combination.

yeah i agree, unfortunately he's got a lot on you. a guy i know has a '95 Auto Z28 and has headers back and is running 13.3, which is about 2 seconds faster than a stock '95 GT convert auto. You def. need gears and then a head/cam/intake swap. Ur gonna need more than $1300 [:@]

I would do a head, cam, intake swap if you want to beat him all motor and go with 4.10 gears....bolt-ons aren't going to help much..time for the big guns

+1 but with $1,300 you are limited on the h/c/i swap. Like I said, your best bang for the buck would be gears (absolutly 100% go with 4.10's)

afr 165 heads first $1300+install
then an intake (cobra, explorer, or bbk) $250-510
then gears - 4.10s sound good $400 (including install)


or,
5-speed swap and strip the hell out of the car

also worth mentioning are tires that really hook, nitto, bfg, etc.

if you check my sig, you'll see i tend to agree however, when is the next time he will have 1300 to plunk down on some heads? i would get them now and then piece together the rest a few hundred at a time. with the heads alone he would have a shot against the z28, and with the intake he would win. the gears are just icing on the cake
