RE: transgo shift kit HELP PLZZ
i have the heaviest stang ever, a 95 vert gt auto. just had 3.73's installed along with the trango hd2 kit shift kit. The shift kit is the best thing I have ever done. Yes, you can shift manually, ie put in 1st, floor it- then get it to around 5000 r's or so, then 2nd and the damn thing actually chirps, instead of "coasting" into gear. Drive is cool too. Overdrive is the same, I dont race with od on anyway. But, for normal driving, just leave it in drive, its shifts normally, doesnt jerk you around at all -well maybe a very, very, very little bit, barely noticable. Best thing you can do for you auto, trust me.
As for gears, my 3.73's are good, when im cruising 75 or so, my r's are around 2200 or 2300 (cant remember exactly). But with a vert, thats all i really need is more noise- between highway noise, wind, and exhaust, my damn stereo is drowned out. I cant imagine hearing my exhaust at another 300 rpms higher [:'(]. From 2.73's to 3.73's, i can tell a difference, when giving it hell. normal driving, it just shifts much quicker and has me in OD around 35 mph instead of 45 mph.
Good luck, hope this helps....
