The spout connector is in front of the distributor towards the base. It looks like a plug going into a small rectangular socket . It can only go in one way. . Hope that helps some.
not on an SN-95. the spout connector is on the passenger side, right below the MAF.

So if you bump it to 12* can you still run 87 octone or should you go with something higher?

Okay first thing first:

1. find the "0" degree mark and the "10" on the dampner and mark it with chalk or a marker
2. Loosen dizzy screw.
3. Make sure your #1 is at TDC or the dizzy wont move. easiest way is to unplug the ignition wire and take the cap off then turn your key until the rotor is pointing towards the #1 copper contact. Its the one at about 11 o'clock on your dizzy.
4. Put cap back and plug ignition wire back in.
5. Remove spout connector (dont loose this)
6. Place Timing Light lead on #1 wire. First wire on passenger side towards front. Connect + and - leads. (make sure all wires are clear from fan and belts)
7. Start car
8. Point light towards marks and move dizzy from the base and not the top.
9. adjust and tighten dizzy screw
10. recheck timing
11. turn off car
12. plug spout connector back in
13. turn car on and let it idle for 2 mintues

On my car the only thing that plugs into the intake is the MAF the O2 sensor and a Vacume hose that plugs in just below the OIL filler cap. I do have a little square connector on the fron of my distributor but it wont come out?

I unplugged that connector and fired the car. I had a pretty flashing light but that is about it. I have no idea how to read the damn thing.
