yep, 50resto.com has hinge and bushing kits for the doors, cheap cheap.

some shop my dad goes to said that unbolting the hinges requires removing the dash to get to the bolts? is this true? how are they removed?

No, your front fenders will have to come off, but that's it....well, and your bumper to get to your front fenders...
