Louder?
So I got BBK headers, x-pipe with HF cats, Super 40s, still not that loud... Last thing is my tail pipes, stock GT ones, quite small in diameter 2" maybe. I was thinking of just hacking it off from the muffler, or a little after. Think that will do it?
i have flowmasters with an h-pipe and i cut my exhuast right behind the mufflers and it became louder but it sounded like crap to me. it lost that mustang sound and sounded like a chevy big block unless i was way up in the rpm range. the only reason i cut them was because the tips stuck out just under the bumper and every time i went in or out of a place with a little hump they would drag or hit the bumper and i thought it would sound better but i was wrong. so i just but some turn downs where i cut them and now its got that old sound without the draging. so to answer your question i would say its going to sound like crap, just like a car without mufflers. how to make it louder i dont know cause im still trying to figure that out. but its your call.
Doesn't make sense though, I live in Cali and hear stangs louder then mine, and we have to keep our **** legal in hear, unless swap out every 2 years. I hear super 40's on stock pipes and blow mine a way. So you don't suggest cutting them, then possibly just get some tubing to turn down to the street?
could run dumps, make it louder and more drone, esp with flows at 2k they drone, I got tired of that so I switched it for mac pro dumps, sound very good, look up sound clips of it, there considered a very good exhaust setup, I dont know why people do run them, there prolly stuck on flows, which suck *****, flowmaster are the worst flowing exhaust you can get they basicly as good as stock, with better sound, mac pro dumps actually flow and sound extremely good, esp with catted H and headers.
