I'm pretty sure that if you want to become a California resident you'll have to get a California drivers license and register your car in California. In the area I live in your car has to pass emissions testing before you can get it registered.

in cali ur 69 would have no problems they dont care about cars 1975 and older. Ive lived in cali my whole life what do u need to know? Here in san diego they are pretty strict. Im not sure about keeping it registered at ur current address or not. I believe u can but not 100% sure on that one. Ill find out im sure you can say ur here for school and they wouldnt care. What does your stang have done to it? Since its an out of state vehicle they will go easy on it because there wasnt as much smog equip on out of state vehicles as cali vehicles. Like my truck was built in michigan and my old mans (same make and model) is from cali. His engine bay filled up with smog crap and mine is very empty. My truck also has a different set of standards it has to meet when being smogged. About finding violators thing ive heard some people say that if your pulled over and the cop wants to be an *** he will ask you to pop ur hood and give you a bunch of fix it tickets for the stuff under the hood. Thats what i have heard anyway. Where will you be going to school?

why in the hell would any one want to live in that god forsaken place, move to VA. all we have are state inspections and if you have a cool car and can get them to talk about it most of the time its lick and stick. ive made it 4 years with a 87 gn with larger injectors, no mufflers, no cat, and a 3.5 inch down pipe along with open dumps that i keep open all the time even when im getting it inspected. hell, the 94 stang dosent even have any emissions equipment what so ever. im sure the calicommies would love that 347 stinken up there air.
i wonder if you cut the car off and drifted through there little check point if it would pick up any thing.

Since it was made before smog laws it is exempt. My dad has a '65 Lincoln and it has never had to be tested.
