well i got a buddy who works down at a local shop. one of the other guys who works there does port and polish jobs for people and i cna get a deal. he said he would charge me 100$ if i bring in the heads to him and he will do them for me.. im thinking i am gunna get gt40p heads real soon so would a port and polish be good on these? seems like 100 is a hell of a deal but maybe im wrong??

anyone who does iron porting for 100 is either drunk or bored, I wouldnt pick up a porting bit for 100, especially iron heads. He will more than likely do more harm than good. Most novices do. I sure did when I started a decade or so ago. Waste of time but a good learning experience for me, you just dont go and hog the bowl and port out.

heck, Its a must to P&P gt40's it only helps flow, make sure he does a 5 angle valve jobe and consistant flow, thats most important, if he just hogs them you will get turbalance, and slow airflow, which isnt good, make sure he flows it good a and consistant, that will give you more snap, what you want is velociy in the airflow, that will improve throttle respone nad help it make power faster, which is what will help make power

all im gonna say is this, porting a cylinder head without a flowbench to establish a benchmark and determine gains is like farting in the air and trying to capture it in a bottle.
