After filling my car up tonight I noticed the fuel tank was leaking...[:@] After putting the car up and taking the wheel off I can see fuel leaking around the rubber gasket that goes from the filler neck to tank. Does anybody know what this part is called? Where can I get one? Keep in mind I am in Japan and there is "no" parts support. Does anyone know where I can find one online? Thanks for any help...

 

its called the fuel sender gasket

happens on my LX too

u can leave it as is just dont fill 'er up all the way

i was never able to get a part # for it but i knew it needed replacing before i even bought mine. been driving 3+ months havent even seen a spec of gas come from it but u can smell it

 

I thought that the fuel sender gasket was on the top of the tank? This gasket is the one that fits around the filler neck as it goes into the fuel tank. Got to do something.. it's leaking bad!

no, thread isn't dead. Yes, got a Mustang GT in Japan. I can take some of the ricers off the line, but there are some that have way too much money invested for me to even have a chance. The Skyline GTR is all wheel drive and fast straight from the showroom floor. Then you have people throwing another $40000-50000 into the engine alone. You end up with a supercar that will outperform just about anything out there.

 

I have the same problem and used some gas tank filler from autozone and it worked, just use up most of your gas before you apply it. I have one on order from CJ's
