Vapor Lock???

Vapor Lock???
OK, i really do think this is the only possibility left, and it really makes sense. My stuttering is a fuel problem, because i will just randomly loose fuel pressure at times. It happens worst when sitting and idling for a while. the combination of a bad fuel pump, low voltage from my pullies, and hot temp. under the hood could be causing a vapor lock, right? when i have little gas in my tank, it happens more because it takes less time to heat up the little gas that is in the tank. my pump is old and probably isnt circulating the fuel fast enough to keep it cool. when i put gas in my car, it temporarily runs good. the cool gas helps cool things off for a while. and this would explain my problem being worse when hot and it going away when it is cooler out. does any of this make sense???

RE: Vapor Lock???
it's very unlikely you have vapor lock why first the pump is in the tank to keep cool and next with high fuel pressure for injected cars keep vopor lock at bay unlike the carb cars the we used to use wooden cothespin to put heat off the fuel line..

thats because fuel injected engines dont vapor lock.
thats because fuel injected engines dont vapor lock.
if it's a stock pump I'd say it's going ,hell there only 88liter a min and hardly even new saw that...you could check the voltage at the pump to see if your getting enough juice at idle..you could up your idle 100 rpms and see if the problem disappears then you know then a 100 + amp alt is needed

RE: Vapor Lock???
fuel injected engines can vapor lock if..........
you dont have enough excess fuel being pumped thru the fuel rails
to keep them cool enough to keep gas from boiling off before reaching injectors.
If the car is runnning hot and you have a weak fuel pump, then yes
you can vapor lock from time to time.
btw: mine does it too. fine for 5 mile drive, 30-40 miles and she'll start sputtering and stalling out,
let it cool down for 1-2 hours, runs fine again. It's a second car for me so I've just lived with it,
due to plans to replace everything soon anyway.
let me know if the new pump fixes it
