Reversed Intake Manifold CRAZY
I bought a wrecked 5.0 for a conversion, which I am in the process of doing right now. When I bought the car I noticed the Intake Manifold was turned around to where the intake is close to the battery. I don't like this, and I was planning on switching it around when I started to work on it. Although the guy who is helping me with it (Who abtains the majority of the knowledge) says it will not be possible, because you would have to re-route the throttle cable. I don't think he is right. Here are some pictures of the engine with the screwed up intake manifold.
We have already mounted the engine into the car, and we have started plugging up the wiring harness, and all of that good stuff. We attached the throttle cable and he did it in an extremely crazy way... I'm going to attempt to demonstrate this on paint. Should this be easy to turn around? What will I have to do to the throttle cable, or should that be pretty easy?

all ud need to do is get a new throttle cable that motor probably came out of an older crown vic, they had the intake on the same way as that one. it would be no problem to move it the other way

I've never seen that before. I've just started to learn about cars during this conversion. All I know is my mustang, I'm not to sure about crown vics and ltds. So this can easily be flipped around with a new throttle cable. Thanks

it's wierd because I'm so used to my 5.0 and I've never bothered to look under the hood of a Mercury. My buddy's Mark VII has normal 5.0 ho with the intake sucking in from the passenger side.

Underpowered slug?
This is getting kind of depressing...
It was an engine used in another 4-8 cyl swap. I can run the numbers soon, and find out the truth. Which isn't looking that great now
