hey all i recently bought a 1990 stang LX about a month ago..the guy said it had stock gears......i was just wondering what they were...i am looking to upgrade to 3.73 but i am just curious what the stock ones are....and also....the car has over100k , do u think i need to do anything before putting the new gears on like a major tune up or something? all help is highly appreciated.........thanks in advance

I've got 90,000 miles and I just had my rear end rebuilt just for the hell of it and 3.90 gears put it. I'd buy a bearing kit and axle bearings just for the hell of it and have them all replaced.

stock gears are like 3.08s or 2.73s and something else for autos.
