5speed GT

so I did a SEARCH and read stuff forever and was unable to find any usefull info. so here goes:

i have my idle set around 800-850
if I rev the engine to, lets say 3000rpms and let off, it will come down to 1200 or so and hang there for about 10-15 seconds then return to idle
now if i do the same thing as above, but while it is hanging at 1200 I lightly tap the throttle, it will come back to idle instantly.
so this made me feel like the trottle cable was sticking, so i went und the hood and disconnected it. same thing.
so I removed the MAF sensor, cleaned it, same thing.
removed the throttle body, cleaned it and cleaned the IAC.
after all this, same thing.

any clues fellas?

My car's been having a similar problem lately too. When stopped at traffic lights, my idle will surge up and down (like maybe from 500 to 1000 for example) and the only way to settle it is to rev it up some then it will drop to normal and start doing it again a few seconds later.

I've cleaned the IAC twice and throttle body. I don't know what it is.

Jaggezz, you ever replace your fuel filter? I had a similar problem to that off startup once in a while and I THINK that was the problem, we'll see.

my car did that too...I cleaned my egr valve and it improved a lot.It had a ton of carbon build up.Check that out. its pretty simple

No. Car only has 70,000 on it. I've put 10,000 on it. I've never though to replace it. Good idea.

Maybe I'll check it out tommorow at work.

where is the fuel filter on 94-95 GT.I should probably change that

well, my egr valve is now spotless... still have the problem though

Could just be a sluggish IAC motor. They do go bad you know.
