Piston??

Piston??
I've decided that my best route is to bore my block .060 over (306ci right??) and replace the pistons/rings.
My question to the guys out there who've done it is what are your opinions on the Speed Pro (Forged) pistons? In the most recent JEGs they advertise a set of these pistons and rings at a price os $263.99. They are Flat top, 4 reliefs style that will give me a compression ration of 9.13 on (Stock??) 63cc heads.
I'm not wanting to go economical but don't want to end up running out of money come time for interior and paint so this is rational for me instead of honing the block (machinist found nothing wrong with block and said that it didn't even need to be bored at all) and putting the OEM pistons back in.
Any opinions on this set or any close to it?
Thanks guys,
Ivan

RE: Piston??
I agree, I just have built WAY TOO MANY hotrods that run like a bat out of hell that are primered red.....my last one I primered grey to switch it out.
I want it to look as good as it runs this time around.
I have 92k on the block. I miked it before and got numbers that were almost exactly what the machinist found. Also, it doesn't benefit him to be dishonest in that aspect since he's recommending that I DON'T need to bore it. If it were up to me I'd rather him tell me it needs to be Stroked.
What you guys think about the piston choice?

RE: Piston??
That was suposed to be a joke....I really wouldn't want to put it back together untouched either.
That would be like trying to have sex with a wet paperbag on instead of a rubber.

RE: Piston??
The worst part of the 'Speed-Pro' pistons are that they 1970 style tech. They are heavy, they will last forever........
That is not a bad price but my self, I would go with something more modern like SRP.
Don't even worry, SRP's will cost more.........
A .030 overbore 302 makes a 306........

RE: Piston??
yeah, SRP's are $466 a set!!! ..and $116 for the rings!!
Where's the benefit (in your opinion) aside from tech? How much less in wieght are they?
Thanks for the insight,
Ivan
