My 93 ashtray lid is just flapping around. Do you think I need just the spring or all these parts. I can't imagine just the door has all these parts. Anyone know? The lid has nothing attached, no springs,bolts,screws. nothing?

Yea i have the same prob cuz my E brake cable snapped an i took it to meinkie to have fixed an they had to take off the middle console an now the dam ashtray lid wont shut.(E brake works good though )Srry i cant help but i would also really like to kno how to fix it.

 

yea... it happens... get use to it, or tape it shut

Yup -- that's the kit you need. It will fix the horrible ashtray door. Mine still works

I just put a Plug and Chug from 50resto there...

 

If you want to fix your ashtray door in the "fast fix-it for now" way.... (until you find a kit).... just put wheel balancing weights along the inside edge of the opening side of the door lid with double sided tape... works like a charm....
