inner tie rod replacement

Has anyone done a replacement on the inner tie rod. Am I better off getting a reman rack and pinion. Is there a special tool required to remove it(other than a pickle fork for the outer)

it is cheaper to just get a remanufactured rack.

I got mine for $135 + $100 core charge.
I think the inner tie rod ends are $50-$60 each.
