yellow headlights
i know it's a common thing but right now i have no money to throw into new headlights but i was talking to this guy and he told me a way to clean them up...
use some of that purple cleaner stuff from auto zone and wash it hard and also to use 1000 grit wet sandpaper and rub it out
not sure which one he said to use first
has anyone heard of this and know if it works?

RE: yellow headlights
works on all kinds of stuff, metals, fiberglass, painted surfaces, wheels.....
it polishes the oxidized layer off that has caused the yellowing or discoloration
Haven't you seen their Tv adds? stuff really works and I've read good consumer reviews of
it and have used it myself. good stuff.

That Flitz is the same thing as the Mothers Ball. You can get it at any parts store aroound $20.00, and the Mothers buffing coumpund is about $9.00 It works great on headlights.

I've used a spiral sewn buff, arbor and plastic compound from Home Depot.(under $20.00) and a drill. That always worked well. You can use a really fine grit wet/dry (use it with water) sandpaper like 1000 and then use a fine cut polish like 3M, then some wax and that would get rid of it.

RE: yellow headlights
yeah just wet sand and buff also u can wet sand it and then clear them the clear has uv protectants that help keep them from turning yellow again. and also water is a common problem on the 5.0 lights inside drill a small drain hole on the light at the buttom and one at the top newer cars have this on them keeps water from building up inside them! also u can pout a little bleach inside of them if they are stained up!
