Leaky Door! Help

Leaky Door! Help
So I replaced the door weatherstripping on my 88 GT Hatchback's doors because the original weatherstripping was all torn up. Now everytime it rains, my doors leak. I know the problem is in the top corner nearest the seatbelt. The weatherstripping has kinked over in the tight turn from the roof line to the rear door line, so that when the door closes, the small bind creates a little gap for water to travel down. I was thinking of trying to fill the void with foam to keep the weatherstripping "inflated" and stop the small kinking that is letting water in. Does anyone else know of something to do this with, or have any ideas to stop the water from getting in?

RE: Leaky Door! Help
The weatherstripping came with the car when I bought it 2 months ago. There were 2 weatherstripping packages, and each bag had a coil of weatherstripping in it, with price tags of 19.99 on each bag. The weatherstipping pretty much fit the door in terms of length with only about 6 inches needing to be trimmed off the end.

I bought weatherstripping from 5.0 Resto and it kinked a little in the top corner where your's did. I havent had any leaks though. Your's must have really kinked. Did you close the door as soon as you finished laying the stuff? If not that might be the problem.

RE: Leaky Door! Help
I laid the weatherstripping, and closed the door.
I was thinking of trying to get some sort of foam and inject it into the corner to help keep the tubing "inflated" and from kinking. Any ideas on this???

RE: Leaky Door! Help
Are you positive that its the weather stripping? These cars are bad about getting the trim around the window bent, from people yanking on that with the window down. Bends it out so it wont seal. Its happend to both doors on my car, could even see day light through the seal with the door shut. If thats the case you just need to bend it back. Be careful not to bend to far, it doesnt take as much pressure as you might think. Thats is if this is the case.
