RE: First 1/4 mile run!
Check EVERYTHING in the ignition system. Set of wires can't hurt.
Use 600CFM Holley vac secondary ( thats about what they came with) Get it working real good.
What gear/tire are U using? You could have .70 in ET just with gear/tire.......

RE: First 1/4 mile run!
1st 2nd 3rd 4th
R/T 0.503 0.423 0.401 0.390
60' 2.529 2.461 2.362 2.417
330 6.623 6.552 6.404 6.520
1/8 10.087 10.009 9.828 9.948
MPH 70.51 70.31 71.70 71.37
1000 13.071 12.991 12.768 12.897
1/4 15.590 15.502 15.260 15.388
MPH 89.32 89.67 90.09 90.23
Being the first 1/4 in this car for me, I was definitely improving. Plus, I hadnt done a tree like the one at Seattle Pacific Raceways in over 6 six years. The one at the 1/8th miles is slightly different. But my R/T was improving, and the stang didnt hop at all on this surface. At the eighths it hops like a mad man. I was trying to carry the gears as far as I could.
As for the tires, they are:
Rear - "Federal" 225/60R15
Front - "Grand Spirit - Aqua Flow" 22560R15
The rear end is a 7.5, with ????? Gears. Probably stock. Is there an easy way to tell the gear ratio by visual inspection of the gears? I would like to take the diff off soon, just for check up anyways.
Tranny is a T-5 with 3rd and 4th gear issues. It definitely grinds in these two. However, I never got to shift to 4th in any of my runs, but I was very close to the end of my 3rd range at the end.
One guy at the track was thinking of selling his upper/lower control arms, which is probably the next investment for me. Its that or a T-5 Rebuild, but I'm nervous to do this on my own.

RE: First 1/4 mile run!
that time is not bad at all... I mean think about it, 1983 mustang GT stock has
175 HP @ 4200 RPM
245 ft/lb @ 2400 RPM
I would be pretty happy, do you have any pics of your car? i really like the early foxes especially if they are in good condition.
