Default WELL I FIGURED OUT MY IDLE PROBLEM.NOW WHAT?

a couple of days ago i decided to unplug my V.S.S ...

the car's idle doesn't hang up no more.
doesn't jump around, and try to die...

i just don't think my my car needs this(my tuner said i did ) i have replaced it twice thinking it was faulty..

my car was converted 5yrs ago to mass air,and was told to have it hooked up,cause mass air car's require this????i took it was for auto cars and cruise equiped cars.

the ecm uses the vss for load calculations to determine optimal timing and fuel enrichment. with it disconnected you may have problems.

I'm no expert but I just converted mine and didn't add the vss. (only because money was tight) I've had no problems as of yet. Mine is also a 5 speed.

i know now when i come to stop sign and push the clutch in the rpms drop quicker.

kinda annoying, but not as bad as idle going up/down constantly...

Like TENGRAM said....you may have "solved" the idle problem by eliminating an input used for idle control, load, etc.....think of it as forcing the ECM to run an alternate strategy w/out the VSS input, and not allow the system to compensate....you may want to check this write-up article though.

i can live with the idle interuption i guess....just gets annoying.

Nope, its an 86. The body and interior have been swapped over to 87-93 specific.
