RE: looking for a cam
there are a billion heads for the smallie, you can stray from the AFR bandwagon. I would be worried about the heads before the cam, that cam in a stock 302 will be a dog. I would also run a solid like I said, I can find alot of HP going from hyd to a solid. Why is everyone so afraid of lashing valves every once in awhile?

RE: looking for a cam
a solid is totally reliable, its the simplest form of mechanical movement as far as valvetrain is concerned. People use a hydraulic cause they are lazy and dont mind leaving 20+hp behind, just as long as they dont have to take the valve cover off and lash the valves.

RE: looking for a cam
problem really lies in buying a cam geared for a stock head will likely be terrible for an aftermarket head. Wanna buy the cam twice? Reason I say this is cause people ALWAYS have plans for new heads etc. etc. and that plan never happens. No disrespect, but do you fit into this category? It's like this most of them time, I want new heads but realistically it's not gonna happen for quite awhile, or Yes I am getting some heads within a month or two. I guess you need to know exactly what your plan is, not what you would like to have happen.
