first bolt came off easy....how in the hell am I supposed to get to the second bolt!!!

I did this yesterday, and it's always been a pain in the *** for me. Did you get the upper or lower bolt out?

nope, youre not missing anything, it really is that hard. If you unplug the connector on the front of your distributor, it makes a little more access room for you, otherwise, good luck.

use an open end wrench
chevy had the best idea on the stat
