The idle screw? You will have to re set TPS (throttle position sensor)voltage. It is that black thing that sits on top of the throttle body. It measues the position of the throttle to let the computer know how much gas to let in. If you have this out, you can run rich.

That is your TPS. You shouldn't have to re calabrate your computer. I don't know about the MAF

You should unplug your TPS, then set your base idle first before you adjust your TPS. I have mine around 800 with the TPS unplugged.

What type of exhaust do you have on it? the black smoke could be caused by soot in the mufflers from not being run or if you are running glass packs it could be from the fiberglass in them burning up and going away causing it to sound as though it is missing and getting louder also.

I do agree i would check the tps and work on the fuel if it is a greyish blue that is caused by it running rich

the exaust i believe is stock, the kid who owned it before me cut the rear two cat's off. stupid.
the headers back need to be replaced (waiting for some shortie headers with offroad xpipe).

its weird because before i had that issue where it turned off on my while driving, i havent drove it, but the sound before was good. now it sounds like it has a bad cold or something.

I would try replacing the d/cap, and rotor and maybe the plug wires if that doesn't help could be a bad spark causing the miss or bad cold hope that helps
