Default mileage

Ive got a 94 cobra and get about 15mpg and do both street and highway driving. I don't drive it very hard, but not soft either... I know its vague but is this "good" mileage? Ive got everything done to the car expect heads, intake and a cam and gears are stock for cobra (3.23 maybe?) Any insight on how to help it other than not accelerating as hard?

the car are not gas hogs it's the driver behind the wheel as we all like to nail it once in the while

mello is right in a good tune up...having a better ignition will help the mileage out...install a set of low ohm plug wires like the holley one's these are what I use make sure you dist. cap has brass ternimals..as for your gear it's a 3.27...another issue is that damn 'puter upgrade to a PMS or tweecer rt and mileage should go up a few mpg's as well as hp on the like of 20hp min.

don't wind out all the gears and get into overdrive as soon as possible unless you doing a lot of stop and go in town driving. you can also add a little air to the tires to reduce rolling resistance and boost the milage a bit too, but keep eye on tire wear and don't run them too over inflated. don't drive with your foot dragging on the clutch or brake. get front end alignment checked. use synthetic oils in engine, tranny, and rear end. drive with windows closed whenever you can to reduce wind resistance. lowering the car to reduce wind resistance will help also. on the highway, use cruise control when you can. install underdrive pulleys and a good chip.

Put it on a diet. Porky needs more food[sm=smiley30.gif]. Less weight better mileage.
