86 Stang unwired itself!!!
Need some help, my car apparently has decided to unwire itself. It's an 86 GT 5.0.
I was relocating my Autometer guages and decided to rewire the lighting leads when I noticed a wire near the firewall under the wiper motor that was just sitting there. The end is stripped off and it attaches to the starter solonoid... so it's LIVE!! The wire is Black with an Orange stripe.
I dug around for over an hour and couldn't find what it would plug into or an extension to it!! HEEELLLLPPPP!!
If someone could trace this wire in their car and let me know I'd greatlt appreciate it.
Cheers

RE: 86 Stang unwired itself!!!
Your most likely going to have to the other part of the wire it connected too. Might have to look really hard, just look over the firewall and around the area, most likely it hasn't gotten far.

RE: 86 Stang unwired itself!!!
I've pulled the harness apart across the firewall, no sign of any matching wires it would go to.
It doesn't go to the starter, it origionates at the starter solonoid on the fenderwall. (top pic in 1st post). I beleive this is an act of tampering, wires just dont separate in a perfectly clean cut, as I'm sure you're all aware. I didn't cut it, and the car hasn't seen a shop in years.
I'd really appreciate any help. If anyone has an 86, this should be very simple to trace.

Electrical tape is a great idea! Except my origional question still hasn't been answered... I can't find what this wire is suppose to plug into.
