I think it's detonation..like when the car knocks..i hear it on commercials and in movies all the time.. I'm not positive of this though

its more of a rattle noise. i heard it about 4000rpm when i first did mine, pretty obviose. but then people say somtimes you cant hear it.

Pre-ignition or detonation what ever you want to call it is when the A/F mixture is ignited before the piston has reached the top of it's stroke.
