I hate being a noob
Okay, so not knowing anything about cars sucks. I just got a new exhaust and now im thinking about getting new gears and a CAI. I want 4.10's because from what i hear they're amazing, and i never drive on the highway. I dont know what the 8.8 and 7. something mean when looking at gears so it would cool if someone could help me out on what i need for my 94 gt. For the cold air intake, i know people tell me to get it but im not sure what it does. I know it looks good but what are some other reasons to get it? After those two, i dont know what to get next. Im looking for the best increase in performance for the best price, not the cheapest if it sucks, but not the super expensive if it performs the same as something cheaper. Some help would be appreciated.
i would recommend starting with a k&n cai, headers, x-pipe (assuming that you only got a catback) then maybe get some gears i personally dont like 4.10 gears but i also drive on the highway everyday if your planning on racing it in a straight line 4.10's are some strong gears. your stang should have an 8.8 rearend not a 7.5 so be careful when ordering gears and not get some for a 7.5 you also might wanna look into getting a complete intake such as an edlebrock, holley, or gt-40 and a throttle body. going by my experience deleting the a/c will get you nothing i got rid of mine and gained no dyno proven power.
maybe this will help out a little bit and get you rolling

8.8 and 7.5 they are talking about is axle size.
you have the 8.8, the older like 87 model had the 7.5" axles, just not as strong.
cold air intake just gives your engine a better flowing intake over stock
stock actaully isnt that bad on the 5.0's either though.
cheapest bang for the buck is going to be nitrous.
if you want solid performance get the TrickFlow top end kit for $2,200
inclused heads, cam, intake and more and will give you and extra 80 or so hp.
turbo or s/c is the next step. or if you have the bucks a turbo on a stock engine will
DOUBLE you horsepower.

I think 85 was the last year for the 7.5, 86 and newer are 8.8. Those numbers are actually the size of the ring gear, but the housing will also be larger as well on the 8.8
That was funny.....I quoted myself there....
