Default pushrod length

what size pushrods do i need for 1.7 rr and gt40 heads? my friend is building the same motor as me as we speak and he tells me the stock pushrods are too short so hes stuck. little help would help us both out alot. he says there is about a 1/4" of play. my heads are still in the mail so if i could fix this now that would be great.

no, i dont think so... i could be wrong but even if the pushrod is too short there shouldnt be any slack, it just wouldnt have perfect geometry

A man should never divulge the length of his pushrod.

To do it right and have the best valvetrain geomety you have to measure. In theory every engine is different.
