Default build 351W or 302?

As of right now i have a bone stock 302, but im planning on building a pretty monster engine for the street, but yet be pretty streetable. What do you guys think i should do, start piecing together a 351W or just build the 302 i have little by little? I knwo that 351Ws are heavier, is that a big deal or does the good outweigh that?

theres no replacement for displacement...
and the 351 block will reliably handle 600+ hp.

I would go with the 351, they make more torque......if your not on a tight buget, stroke it for even more tire smoking torque....

Build bigger if your wallet can handle it. Remember whatever you think your budget is, double it.

I'm leaning towards a 351 stroked to 408. I'm looking for 400-450 NA HP. THEN .... down the road, I want twin turbos. This is a long road mind ya! (Gotta love that turbo spool up whine!)

;-)

hahaha tcwc, me and you think alot alike. i was thinking 427 small block, 500 N/A horsepower with 9.0/1 compression, then slapping twin turbos for 1000+ hp.

A few guys up here in my neck of the woods (PA) are running twin turbo'ed 351's and are close to 9's. One guy I read about did his whole setup with junkyard parts (including the engine, and ALOT of time) and is running low 10's in a 80's Capri!!!

I'm still doing 'research' as to how exactly go about it, but a 351W will definately be my 'base'.

Cheers!
