pardon me kind gentlemen, i am putting a new clutch in my car tomorrow, but i do not know what kind i should put into my 89' hatchback, what would you recommend? if you do not mind me asking.

i just had a replacement clutch in my 89' hatch.before my car was grinding when i put it into reverse but now it iz doing the exact same thing and i just put the clutch in yesturday.does anyone kno wut the problem might be?

Try going it first or second before you go into reverse. I used to have a ford ranger that did that. It wouldnt do it when I went into first or second before going into reverse. I am not sure as to why it does it though.

thats a tranny problem. Not clutch. But you can try to make sure your clutch is adjusted, the tranny is suppost to stop spinning when the clutch is pressed in. If the reverse is grindin the clutch may still be slightly still engaged, just enough to turn the tranny a little bit. As for the rest of the car, the other gears are syncro'd so they slow the gears down before they engage. Good luck.
