Hey guys what would be wrong with a tranny if only the reverse didnt work? Everything else runs amazing, reverse will just pop forward out of gear when you try to engage it, wut is this?

I had a VW bug that did the same thing. I just held it in reverse with my hand, and never had a problem with it.

I tried that twisted and im not a small guy im 6'4 350, play college football and bench 400 and cant hold it in place it pops out that powerful.

I guess it's a lot easier on a bug. LOL. I remember when I was a kid, my dad had a friend with a nasty old 69ish Nova that did the same thing. I can remember both of them wrenching back on the stick, with all their might, trying to hold it in reverse. Now I understand why they did that.

maybe syncro? try changing the trans. fluid and see what happens.
it will go in with force, just when u let go of the stick, it pops out?

how is that so, i've seen posts on here dozens of times wondering why reverse grinds when going in and people say that 5th and reverse share a syncronized pattern???

not being a douche, im no trans. expert, thats just what I thought.
