I have a newly rebuilt 302, now a 306 with forged pistons, hardened pushrods, stock crank and rods, Performer aluminum heads with 1.6 roller rockers, and E-303 cam. Whats the safest amount of juice i can spray to get a hell of kick but also maintain my engines life? Help me out here.[sm=nxsmile.gif]

I think that I wouldn't go more than 150. I know that there are alot of guys that say no more than 150 on a stock engine. Well, yours appears to be a little more than your average 5.0 stock block. I still wouldn't go more than 150 in your case.

The block still is the same as a stock block. That's the weak link of the entire package.

Throw a support girdle on that bitch and then I think the answer may be different.

DSS sells one for $299 that is supposedly the best.

You can run a 150 shot w/ proper tunning. Im not sure if I would go bigger.

your weakest link is the rod bolts unless replced with an arp type of bolt. A girdle does nothing more than hold the crank and rods in if the block splits in half. Run it rich and spray 175, if its a stock rod bolt 125-150 max and limit rpm to 6000 max

well you never get the full hp from it. If you spray 200 your not gonna get 200

If you have some sort of ignition box like MSD or Crane and a bigger fuel pump, you can run 175. Just make certain to retard your timing (1 to 1-1/2 degrees retard per 50 HP), run a colder plug, and close the plug gap to .025-.030. I would higher recommend a wideband too.
If your ignition and fuel system is stock I wouldn't run any more then 125.
I ran a 125 shot on a stone stock block w/out any problems.
I sold the car and told the seller that if they intend to spray any more to add and ignition box, fuel pump and drop timing. He didn't listen and threw in the 150 jets. First pass melted plugs, second pass didn't gap new plugs and blew head gasket.

make sure ya have ya timing way down, and run it really fat or you will be putting head gaskets on it .
but if i was you .. id start off with a 100 shot, tune it to that
then 125-150, tune it to that, dont let it detonate!!!!!!
might have to get a retard box if you go over 150, but still turn your timing down
id say go slow on working your way up too 175 or 200,
just get used to the way your car reacts to the nitrious, and keep a check on your plugs, that will tell the story, on how rich you have to go on your fuel
i always run the fuel pill one size above what the nitrious book says just to be on the safe side, but you can get too rich
oh ya.... that stuff is addictive lol

(just kidding... it saddens me, but the deal on the 93 was tooooo good.)

I am running a 100 shot on my hyperutectic pistons now with 14 degrees of timing.0.048 plug gap
I will up it to the 125 shot on friday.

but I had it dynoed and know where to set my fuel pressure to be safe.

if I had forged pistons I would be spraying a 200 shot.
