basic mods+nitrous=gear?
ok so i have some basic bolt ons right now, i do plan on getting a h/c/i combo down the road but i will be getting nitrous before that.
latly i have been seeing some posts about not getting 4.10s with nitrous and SC. is this in fact a bad idea??? does anyone have one of the two and have first hand experiance.???
right now i was planning on 3.90 or 4.10 gears but if that would not work the best with nitrous maybe i need to rethink that decision??
any opinions or facts would be helpful thanks!!!
(plan on doing a small shot like a 75 or so)

If you go with a high gear ratio, like 4.10 and do a supercharger, or nitrous, by the time you are experiencing your true horsepower and torque curve gains (upper rpms) your engine will already be screaming. For example, my buddy has a 69 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet car with 4.30's and nitrous. At the track the car is amazing in the quarter mile, but on the street, don't even think about going above 50mph.
The basic feeling is that if you have a manual, stick with 3.73's and if you have an automatic, stick with 4.10's.
But thats just my 2 cents.

hawk ..that's because he doesn't has over drive...4.10's aren't good for an s/c because 1 with the added hp you will never hook unless you do suppension mods and 2...with the 4.10's depending on the s/c you could be near the rpm limit of the s/c..

i get 21+ mpg on the freeway on my '93 notch w/ 117k on it
my '89 notch w/ stock motor, 75 shot, et streets , 4.10's and lt's went 13.20 on motor and 12.52 on the 75 shot
anymore need to be said ??????
i can say however that my '93 is running much slower.... 14.0 and 13.0 on 80 shot, 4.10's , et rad's, lt's

Go with the 4.10's, they work awesome with nitrous. I have 4.30's and run a 200 shot. Their a little steap for my combo cause I spin a little too much off the line, and i'm hitting the factory 6250 rev limiter just before the finish line. Need to get that removed soon.
With 4.30's and a 28" tire I cruise 80mph in fifth gear at 2900 rpm.
