AC question?

Default AC question?

I put a new compressor and got the ac system charged,but the air isn't cooling like it's supposed to be. What could be the problem ?

how does moisture get in the system? I ask cause I cant seem to hold a charge, but cant find any leaks. And how do get the moisture out?

Moisture gets into the system the same way the freon gets out. Through faulty seals or components. The way to remove the moisture is to evacuate the system and then charge it. Put in some dye and then some freon. You will need a shop to do this.

Did you have them leak test the system? Did they tell you if the pressures were alright?

It's possible but I couldn't say w/o knowing what the working pressures were. Try another shop. There's not much to the systems on these foxes. He shoulda' been able to tell you from looking at the pressures.

when they recharged it did they use r-12 or r-134a? foxes are r-12 systems, and if they used 134a without knowing you didnt retrofit the system, then all of your freon will leak out. and like pro said, its hard to pinpoint the cause without a set of guages on it.
