Yeah, it's good to hear that you're not having a huge problem...I'm sure you breathed a huge sigh of relief upon hearing that.

They also took oil pressure readings...my pressure is 37 psi @ idle...they gave me two other numbers but they were all normal. My guage must just be screwing with me. (They told me it needs a new sending unit)

I am glad to hear it is not anything major. That is a good amount of cash but this way it is fixed and you will have no worries.

Your oil pressure is on L at idle? I would take a oil pressure reading from an actual gauge, sounds like internal engine probs. Remember the cam drives the dist. and the dist drives the oil pump. Check oil pressure, dist shaft gear/shaft play, and oil driveshaft. DEFINATALLY remove belt first and run to rule out acc drive. While the belt is off check water pump shaft play and fan to shroud clearance... good luck

Already got it diagnosed...my oil pressure guage was lieing to me. it needs a new sending unit. They said it was at 37 psi @ idle.

From my post back on July 2, glad you got it figured out

are sure its coming form the engine and not an accessory?

I was sure I had a main crank bearing going out, took the belt off so I could just hear
the engine better and sound went away.

Ended up being the smog pump. Check engine with belt off just to make sure. Takes about 5 secs to take belt on and off.
