Is a electric fan worth getting over a stock fan even if it works fine? What is the difference between them? Bascially why would electric b better? thx

Electric ones are lighter. The stock clutch fan can accually rob up to 15 hp from your engine. If your thinking about getting one cheap, get one off of a 89-95 taurus. They bolt right one and you can get one for about $20-40 in good condition. I run one and it works great. I have it hooked up to a toggle switch and I flip it on when my temp gauge reads 180 degrees.

with a stock fan you just have more rotating mass on the crank. thats how it robs power. the gains of having an elecric fan vs a mechanical fan are minimal though.

Jegs makes a cooling overhaul kit for out foxbody mustangs, includes an aluminum radiator, proform electric cooling fan with adjustable thermostat switch, FRPP blue hose kit, FRPP water neck, new thermostat, and a high-flow water pump. Only thing you need to buy seperately are top radiator brackets (im told modifying stock can work), and radiator cap (i dont know why it doesnt include one)... I should have mine on soon. The kit runs $599 from jegs.
