RE: I need a Tune/Chip Question
totally agree......burn a chip/tune will cost on average 500 bones...get more mods later on.....now what? your stuck with putting more money in chip reflash/tune where if you a programmer woalla your done.

RE: I need a Tune/Chip Question
Here's a nice sight that lists a lot of different EEC programmers with some good information on each (Ford Fuel Injection). The website in general looks to be useful.

RE: I need a Tune/Chip Question
I recently purchased a tweecer, and don't waste your time with chips.
Yes I have used a chip on a modified 302. Not worth the time.
Invest in a tuner early, as it will save you many headaches in the future.
Especially if the tuner can datalog.
As far as starter tuners go the tweecer is the most common for beginners, and is fairly easy to learn (if you consider the poer it provides).
Another low buck alternative is to invest in hardware from MOATES.net

RE: I need a Tune/Chip Question
Tuning the 5.0 is the same as tuning a MOD motor (computerwise) there just isnt as many companies that make programmers for our cars. I am very pleased with my Tweecer R/T and would recommend it.
And like a few other people said, off the shelf chips are a waste of money, bump your FP and timing after doing a good tune up (total cost probably around $70) and you will get the same results if not better, and still be able to run regular gas without spending $300+ on a chip that just gives your engine more spark

RE: I need a Tune/Chip Question
I found out I can just take my car to SoCal Diablo and have them dyno tune it and install a custom disblosport chip over here at Superior Automotive. it's not bad for the price it's about $450.
