Default Gears/speedo

if you get 3.73 gears do you need to do anything to the speedo to correct for the new gearing?

You would need to change the speedometer gear that goes onto the transmission and the speedo cable. Thats all. They cost about 20 bucks.

That's it, plus the cost of install unless it's something you've done before.

Click on the link, and you'll see which gear you will need to fix your speedo problem. And yes, the Jeep gear works (You should get one OB, it makes your car faster )

I did not need to change the cable on my '88, just the plastic gear at the tranny end.

Oh yea, missed that in the post. Shouldn't need a new cable just a gear.

I meant the gear that goes onto the transmission and onto the speedo cable (as in between the two). Sorry if I confused anyone. My bad.
