The next clamp down on this hose line is very loose, and I'm having a hard time getting it mated to clamp it down, like the hose is .25 inches too short to connect properly. It's barely connected at all.

that hose goes from your heads to your smog pump. it should be a vacuum in there since the smog pump sucks smog out. but dont let it get loose cause if u loose air through there, you loose compression and power

thats not true, the smog pump pumps fresh air into the exhaust. its designed to help the cats work better and last longer. the smog pump pumps air into the back of the heads so there is air going to the first 2 cats, and it also pumps air into your h-pipe so the second set of cats gets fresh air too. youll notice that right after the smog pump that hose splits into two and one runs down the fire wall and under the car

yeah that cant be true because thats the air check valve

mine snapped in half and my car runs fine

personaly i wouldnt mess with it

its very fragile and if it cracks even slightly it will break in half

try to get a new clamp , start it (mate it ) up close to the top and then slide it down the hose to its posistion... then tighten it up.. you may need a friend to gently press the hose and fitting towards eachother to tighten them.... good luck

Anything wrong with ripping the whole smog emissions out of the car?

Theres nothing wrong with ripping it out of the car, as long as you dont mind failing emissions.

I yanked mine out. I live in cali. I just have to pay some mexican guy 200 bucks every two years to pass smog
