Default Stuck headlight switch?? 90GT

90GT/AOD

I took it out for a drive the other night and when I shut her off and tried pulling the switch to turn off the lights and that thing wouldn't move! It's stuck in the middle position ( side lamps ) I can't pull the switch to turn the lights off. Wtf?

I tried everything close to breaking it and no-go. Anybody ever have a similar problem? Does the whole instrument panel have to come off so I can check the light switch? Thanks.

Mine would not move at all--happened about a month ago. I had to remove the switch to shut the lights off. 80 bucks from the nearest dealership. Just follow rmodel65's instructions. The wires that plugged into my switch were too short to reach after depressing the tabs (I couldn't pull the switch out) but it finally came loose after about 3 four letter words.
