Default Alternator pulley

Cant get the alternator pulley nut off. using impact wrench......

it's not a reverse thread nut or anything is it?

Yea you can take it off with an impact wrench.

We swap out pulleys on our Alternators pulleys at work all the time. Just hold the pulley with your hand (with glove) and leave her rip. we use Impact gun though. Same thing.

i wedged a screw driver in between the fan and the alternator itself, why are you replacing it?

That's a good way too. Used to use that method more often than not at the autoparts store.

R.Barn. Are you using a screw driver to hold the fins in place or just hittin it with the impact? Secure the fins then the impact should spin it right off.

damn thing just WILL NOT even budge.

using impact gun and screw driver to brace against fan blades, NADA!
guess i'll spray some pentrating fluid on it and try again in the morning.

think it would make a difference if engine was warm?
