thats pretty much whats in my short block. except i have all forged and h beam rods. if it were me though, i'd be looking for srp forged pistons. pistons are definatly one thing you dont want to skip on.


what are you going to be doing with the engine? N/A high compression? nitrous? blower? gotta figure all of that into the build. if you're just going the N/A route, then all the cast stuff will be good.

if you want a power adder i would definatly be looking for forged parts.

the price seems right for that kit though
I plan on putting a sc on it later so Im guessing forged internals is the way to go.

Is that what your using? I heard a couple guys here saying something about having to remachine them or something to that effect? Ive been leaning towards "Scat" What do you think?

I wish I had a stroker, you will have to bore the block and sometimes clearance things... ive heard good things about scat too

yea Im going to start saving up for a kit pretty soon.

I have a 97 Explorer block that Im about to bore. I just tore the entire block down last night. lotsa fun!
