All honesty though, its not necessary to convert it to mass air if you are just going to do the basic bolt ons. If you plan on swapping out the cam, etc. THAN it might be a good idea but if not than I honestly wouldnt even worry about it. Alot less BS to deal with also!

I dont know why noone is mentioning gears. First thing you want to do if you have not done it already is a good tune up (change oils throughout car, cap & rotor, ignition wires, etc. etc. etc.) If you already have that out of the way the first thing I would do is a nice catback. Personally, I LOVE SLP's (I just got my SLP LM 1's last week and LOVE them). Next is gears! Is it a 5spd or automatic? If you do alot of highway driving you might want to stay away from 4.10's but if its just a cruiser (lots of street time some highway) you can go with 4.10's... especially if its an automatic. 3.73's & 3.90's are good all around gears. It all depends. Something you should definetly read is the "first mods" in the stickies section. That will definetly clear some things up for you and give you some ideas that you can approach in the future. Also, a good free mod is to remove your air silencer (located behind the intake) and bump your timing a few degrees. There is also a sticky on that in the tech articles section. Good luck and if you ever need any help we are the people to come to! And CONGRADULATIONS!!! on the new 5.0!

yeah its a stick. i do a lot of normal driving, and highway every now and then. what are the stock gears??? i buddy told me to drop to a 3:73. i've had the car for about 2 months, so i've done all the tune up stuff. can i do the catback stuff myself??? should i go full pipes and mufflers, or just stick to the mufflers??? remember, i got limited funds here and basically just wanting it to look a little better on the outside and sound good and run a little quicker.
