yeah, installing rear-end gears takes some special tools and knowledge, best to pay to have it done right.

For the gears question: pretty sure he's talking about the whole deal with the price of the gears AND the bullsh!t labor costs!

gears would be my first investment, then do all the freebe stuff r barn suggested... basco sauce you got any better ideas you chould post them....

gears, exhaust, head cam intake combo (maybe a used combo to save $$$) msd ignition system, cap, plugs, wires, etc.

Are you looking to make the car a street car or for the track?

If you put a blower on it you'll need all this stuff anyway plus injectors and calibrate maf, etc. for the best dyno results.

Good Luck on your build.... be sure to take before and after pics of the engine bay. Then post them.

ya and if you get a blower you might blow ur tranny too.. depends on if its stock or how new it is and if its been beat already.. my buddy gota avortech s-trim and he blew his tranny in the first few days and had to buy a tremec. good luck tho i go w/ what r barn started w/
